Welcome to Littles Rewired from the Brain Bloom Room

Our programmes for Preschoolers support the brain & the body to grow together. This brain-body neuro integration sets the foundation for optimum life long development, health & wellness.

What is the Littles Rewired Programme?

The Littles Rewired programme has been created exclusively for Preschoolers to give their brain & body the very best start in life by helping them grow together. This is a unique programme combining the knowledge & expertise of the Brain Bloom Room team with the work of Dr. Robert Melillo.  Dr. Melillo is a neurologist, brain researcher & the founder of Brain Balance (USA) and The Melillo Methodâ„¢. All our Brain Bloom Room Neuro Coaches are certified Melillo Methodâ„¢ practitioners so carry this knowledge framework to all the work they do.

We are on a mission to create a brighter future for the littlest members of our communities

Littles Rewired Foundations

The focus of the Littles Rewired programme, is addressing Primitive Reflexes which are still present in many of our preschoolers today & are showing up in the classroom when these children arrive at school unprepared to manage the classroom environment.  If these primitive reflexes are not addressed their presence will impact a child in many aspects of life through into adulthood including their ability to develop and learn.

A few symptoms of Retained Primitive Reflexes

Some of the most common symptoms we see in people with retained reflexes are:

  • Weak muscle tone

  • Poor posture

  • Poor balance and co-ordination

  • Struggles with communication & social Skills

  • Struggles with learning & behaviour

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • Poor digestion

  • Poor Immune regulation

  • Bed wetting

  • Poor eye contact

  • Poor handwriting

  • Reduced inhibition

  • Reduced empathy

  • Drooling

What are Primitive Reflexes?

Primitive Reflexes are part of each and every one of us.  Newborn babies enter the world with involuntary survival motor responses which are called primitive reflexes.  They usually integrate being replaced by more mature voluntary reflexes by the age of 12 months.  However Primitive reflexes integrate through repeated stimulation and use so that they sequentially integrate (become dormant) at the correct time, one after the other. The infant then gradually advances from one milestone to the next.  Any interruption to this sequence can cause the primitive reflexes to become retained (active) meaning the infant often misses, or advances through the milestones too quickly. This jump in development confuses the brain and the nervous system may then not progress and develop as it should.  Things such as difficult pregnancies, family stress, trauma and even not enough time to move around and experience the world can all contribute to Primitive Reflexes being retained.
